Lady Eagles Dominate in Season Opener

Victory is ours! The first volleyball game was on August 31, 2010 and our Lady Eagles had a tremendous win. The starting six, Captain Vanesa Valcour (12), Co-Captain Monica Sapp (11), setter Tiffany Taylor (12), Jenniffer Dorcinvil (10), Yokemmiya Doyle (11), and Brittenay Tucker (9) started the game with a BIG BANG!

We also can’t forget the ones who brought it home in the next sets: Nicole McCray (11), Destiny Wright (11), Gueshnia Dorcinvil (9), and Danielle Turner (9).

Though our opponents, Choice Learning Academy, came eager to play, the Lady Eagles closed out the game in three dominating sets.

The game started with a great serve from Vanesa Valcour and throughout the game she had thirteen aces, three kills, and three dinks. Right behind her were the other teammates; Monica had three aces, two kills, and one dink; Tiffany had eight aces and five assists; Brittenay had six aces; Yokemmiya had fifteen aces; Danielle had seven aces, and Destiny had one ace. All of the team efforts and hard work paid off and we had a great game.

We cannot forget about the ones who taught and helped the team learn all the things they know today. Many thanks to Coach Reyes for his determination, great leadership and teaching, which helped the Lady Eagles get a great win. Coach Reyes also received help from former NCA volleyball star Jackisha Fanfan, class of 2007, who was on hand to volunteer her time and give back to her school.
